About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Contribute to the planning, design, coordination, and delivery of electrical systems for railway and transit projects
- Support the design and engineering of traction power, low voltage power distribution, lighting, grounding and bonding
- Prepare and review technical reports, engineering calculations, design drawings, specifications, and other project documents
- Coordinate with civil, structural, track, signaling, systems, and mechanical disciplines for integrated project delivery
- Support project delivery in line with scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety objectives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university
- Professional Engineer designation (P.Eng.) or eligibility for registration with the relevant provincial engineering association is preferred
- Experience in the design and delivery of railway, transit, transportation, or infrastructure projects
- Demonstrated understanding of electrical systems related to rail and transit environments
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations applicable to railway and transit projects
- Experience preparing engineering calculations, technical specifications, reports, and design documentation
- Proficiency with standard engineering software and design tools such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit, or other related platforms
