About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the delivery of civil and structural design packages for rail infrastructure projects.
- Prepare, review and verify calculations, drawings, reports and technical deliverables.
- Develop civil and structural engineering solutions for assets such as bridges, foundations, retaining structures, stations and related rail infrastructure.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective design integration.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians.
- Support design reviews, technical assurance activities and the resolution of engineering issues.
- Identify and manage design risks in line with project requirements and relevant standards.
- Liaise with project managers, clients and stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
- Ensure deliverables comply with Arcadis requirements, national standards and codes of practice.
Requirements
What you’ll need- BSc/BEng or MSc/MEng, or equivalent, in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
- Relevant civil/structural design experience, preferably within a rail or major infrastructure environment.
- Experience preparing and checking engineering calculations, drawings and technical reports.
- Knowledge of structural design principles, relevant codes, standards and risk management.
- Experience using structural analysis and design software would be advantageous.
- Ability to provide technical guidance to project team members.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status with a professional institution desirable.
