About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Set technical and product support directions and develop team members to support current and future program needs
  • Support in-house and supplier activities in the design, fabrication, and continuous improvement of combustion device components for ULA and New Glenn customers
  • Lead and promote process improvement and development activities across all phases of the component life cycle to support on-rate product delivery
  • Responsible for the complete employee experience, including hiring, performance management, training, and providing tools for career development
  • Help improve technical processes, requirements and tool development in the focused areas of engine test planning, execution, and engine development cycles
  • Provide day-to-day direction and contribute to/lead component design, manufacturing, and test support
  • Perform data reviews and test readiness reviews; support anomaly investigations and root cause analyses to drive corrective actions and hardware improvements.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Chemical, or Physics preferred)
  • 5+ years of aerospace industry or related field experience, or equivalent
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team of engineers in a fast-paced environment, producing and delivering hardware to meet customer needs
  • Strong technical fundamentals in mechanical design, manufacturing, supply chain, and materials processing, including machining, welding, brazing, and additive manufacturing
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Demonstrated experience with computer-aided design (CAD) tools
  • Demonstrated experience leading Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
  • Proven understanding of production processes
  • Familiarity with data analysis and data processing
  • Consistent track record of leading teams by earning trust and maintaining positive, professional relationships
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
