About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Supports the design, architecture, and development of simulation models, simulation visualizations, virtual environments/platforms and frameworks to enhance test performance, safety, and durability of software and hardware systems throughout the entire product lifecycle.
- Supports partnership with stakeholders to review and identify simulation requirements and dynamics of the systems being simulated.
- Supports designing, modeling, simulation, testing, and analysis to assess and optimize overall system performance and capabilities.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor of Science degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- Ability to obtain security clearance
- Proficiency in C++, Lua Scripting or one of the similar programming languages
- Familiarity with Physics based Modelling and Simulation system Engineering principals
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, BitBucket etc).
- Knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
- Familiarity with DevOps, Automation and CICD concepts.
- Understanding of testing frameworks and unit testing practices.
- Experience working as a Software Simulation Engineer or a similar role
- Experience across Software Development Lifecycle and Software standards such as ISO9001.
- Understanding of the distributed interoperability simulation protocols used within defence collective training (e.g., DIS and HLA).
- Understanding and experience of the COTS simulation and training environment development, execution, verification, validation and deployments
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) and software design principles.
