About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage and expand the client portfolio with a focus on barter operations, developing long-term strategic partnerships.
- Conduct consultative sales of agricultural inputs, such as fertilizers, crop protection products and seeds, aligned with the needs of producers and resellers.
- Negotiate and structure barter operations, ensuring balance between the supply of inputs and the return in grains (soybean, corn, and others).
- Monitor agricultural market trends, including commodity prices, exchange rates, input costs, and crop cycle dynamics, to ensure informed decision-making.
- Ensure execution of barter contracts, monitoring deadlines, quality of delivered products, and logistics of received grains.
- Serve as a liaison between the client and internal departments (commercial, credit, logistics, and finance), ensuring smooth processes and adherence to agreements.
- Contribute to the mitigation of financial and market risks, aligning barter strategies with company policies.
- Represent the company at events, agricultural fairs, and strategic meetings, reinforcing the brand and market relationships.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Languages: Basic English
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Business Administration, Economics, Agricultural Engineering, or related fields.
- Postgraduate/MBA in agribusiness, agriculture or related areas is desirable.
- Experience: Proven experience in barter operations and consultative sales in agribusiness.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of agricultural inputs, the grain market, and structuring commercial operations.
- Basic knowledge of local environmental legislation and the relevant governmental and non-governmental bodies involved in sustainability matters.
- Skills in negotiation, risk analysis, and relationship management with farmers and cooperatives.
- Intermediate Excel.
