About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist in the monthly financial close process, including preparing journal entries for posting to the general ledger along with monthly general ledger account reconciliations.
- Analyze, verify, and record financial transactions in an accurate and timely manner.
- Prepare reporting and analysis to support understanding of assigned balance sheet accounts and to aid in business unit processes.
- Maintain documentation of all relevant processes and procedures as changes occur.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to obtain necessary information, clarify variances, and support compliance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal accounting policies.
- Support internal and external audit activities and inquiries, including documentation requests and control walkthroughs.
- Contribute to process improvements that increase the accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency of close and reconciliation activities.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned; responsibilities listed are not intended to be all-inclusive and may be modified as necessary.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years of accounting experience in a corporate, public accounting, or similar financial environment.
- Experience preparing journal entries, performing general ledger account reconciliations, and supporting a monthly financial close process.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and basic macros) to analyze and reconcile financial data.
- Experience with accounting principles, including GAAP.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- CPA certification (preferred).
- Knowledge and understanding of financial statement presentation and basic U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reporting concepts.
- Accounting experience using SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems (preferred).
- Experience with process improvement, standardization, and documentation of accounting procedures (preferred).
