About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and optimize end-to-end Ocean Import and Export Operations
  • Manage the Ocean Lead Logistics Provider (LLP) and Ocean Liners to optimize network design
  • Oversee import deconsolidation operations at six or more North American warehouse facilities
  • Manage ocean transit float to minimize accessorial, inventory, warehouse, and premium freight costs
  • Lead the annual ocean carrier bidding process to ensure it is awarded on time and under budget
  • Drive year-over-year freight and inventory reduction targets and improve inbound/outbound container utilization
  • Partner with 3PL providers to ensure safe packaging and shipping of powertrains to more than 20 global customers
  • Secure necessary weekly capacity to support demand
  • Implement lean management principles to guarantee damage-free, on-time material shipments
  • Maintain robust inventory control processes and monitor KPIs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Engineering or Business degree
  • Strong leadership behaviors, with a systemic process-oriented mindset.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Strong MRP experience (CMMS3 or SAP)
  • Experience with Data Analytical Tools
  • Strong understanding of Global Logistics
  • Understanding of Global Ocean Carriers
  • Understanding of Customs laws and processes
  • MBA
  • Strong supply chain, supplier performance and/or plant experience preferred
