About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and development of powertrain systems (engine / transmission / driveline) and components for Ford Racing Motorsports programs. Programs will include race applications as well as "one-off" high-performance demonstration vehicles.
- Create 3D parametric component/assembly models and 2D detailed drawings for manufacturing and assembly within CATIA V5.
- Manage CAD models/drawings within Teamcenter Engineering PDM.
- Construct and manage powertrain Bill of Materials.
- Work with suppliers, race teams and sanctioning organizations concerning hardware specifications and regulations.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or similar related engineering field (Master's preferred).
- 3+ years of engine and/or driveline design and/or development experience.
- 3+ years of experience in Computer Aided Design, preferably CATIA V5.
- 5+ years of engine and/or driveline design and/or development experience (even better).
- Experience with engineering analysis software.
- Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing practices.
- Strong communication skills and competency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Strong overall knowledge of vehicle and powertrain functions.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and capabilities (machining, fabrication, casting, etc).
- Strong team player, with ability to interact across functions, and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with high responsibility.
- Possess a competitive spirit and interest in professional motorsports.
- International and Domestic travel may be required.
