About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform and lead structural design for substation facilities, including foundations, steel structures, equipment supports, and miscellaneous structural components.
  • Support projects through all phases including conceptual design, detailed engineering, permitting support, and construction administration.
  • Work closely with electrical engineers, designers, and other disciplines to ensure coordinated, constructible designs.
  • Provide technical guidance and review of designs prepared by junior engineers and designers.
  • Participate in client meetings, respond to contractor RFIs, and provide construction support as needed, including limited travel to project sites.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering (structural emphasis).
  • 6+ years of progressive structural engineering experience, preferably including substation or industrial facilities.
  • Experience designing concrete foundations and structural steel systems.
  • Working knowledge of relevant codes and standards (ACI, AISC, IBC, ASCE).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe.
