About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead Enterprise Safety Strategy
- Drive the development and execution of the organisation's WHS strategy, ensuring alignment with business priorities, risk profile and organisational maturity.
- Oversee Governance, Risk and Compliance
- Provide assurance over WHS governance frameworks, risk management, incident management and legislative compliance obligations.
- Influence Executive Decision-Making
- Act as a trusted advisor to executives, leaders and governance forums, providing evidence-based guidance on safety risks, priorities and strategic trade-offs.
- Build Organisational Safety Capability and Culture
- Embed safety leadership across the organisation, driving accountability and supporting leaders to effectively manage physical and psychological safety risks.
- Lead and Develop the Safety Function
- Lead the Safety team through clear direction, capability development, workforce planning and performance management to deliver sustainable WHS outcomes.
Requirements
What you’ll need- WHS Governance, Risk and Compliance Expertise – Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management frameworks and assurance processes.
- Strategic Planning and Execution – Ability to translate organisational objectives, emerging risks and legislative requirements into practical safety strategies.
- Executive Stakeholder Management – Proven experience influencing senior leaders, boards and governance forums.
- Leadership and Team Development – Demonstrated success leading high-performing teams and building organisational capability.
- Risk Analysis and Decision Support – Ability to analyse complex information, identify emerging risks and provide clear recommendations.
