About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work within agile teams to support the design of static structural components, ensuring key failure modes are assessed and risks appropriately mitigated
- Define the strategies required (analysis/test) to verify integrity against requirements
- Plan and support mechanical experiments, analyse test data, and validate results against design predictions
- Use sound engineering judgement to resolve technical challenges and influence designs
- Deliver defined technical work packages to agreed time, cost and quality
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven experience in mechanical analysis topics (e.g. strength, buckling, fatigue, crack propagation, vibration)
- An understanding of the material properties relevant to the above mechanical domains
- An understanding of manufacturing methods
- An awareness of product integrity and certification frameworks
- Excellent communication skills and working towards or holding Chartered status
