About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead a variety of projects including technical evaluations and analyses in the area of Anticipated Operational Occurrences, Anticipated Transients without Scram, Reactor Heat Balance, and Thermal Hydraulic Fuel Channel Analyses
  • Perform plant thermal hydraulic evaluations and analyses in the areas of Containment, HELB, Fire Safe Shutdown, Annulus Pressurization Loads, and RIPD analyses
  • Perform plant thermal hydraulic evaluations and analyses in the areas of BWR stability
  • Deliver products at a consistently high and sustainable level in accordance with customer requirements, business procedures, and regulatory agency guidelines
  • Prepare thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, and calculations
  • Perform technical verification of engineering technical deliverables
  • Prepare, communicate, and present complex technical issues to internal and external customers and recommend solutions
  • Ensure work is performed with high quality in accordance with regulatory rules and regulations, customer requirements, and business quality assurance standards

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • B.S. Degree in Engineering Discipline (Nuclear, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or similar)
  • At least 8 years of relevant nuclear experience
  • U.S. export-controlled information access eligibility
  • Master's Degree or Ph.D. Degree in Engineering; or Senior Reactor Operator Certification (preferred)
  • Experience with BWR core simulation and thermal-hydraulic systems codes
  • Experience with BWR Containment, HELB, Fire Safe Shutdown, Annulus Pressurization Loads, and RIPD analyses
  • Knowledge of BWR Systems and integrated plant response
  • Knowledge of fundamental principles of nuclear engineering (nuclear physics, thermal hydraulics, mechanical design)
  • Expertise in two-phase thermal hydraulic analysis techniques
  • Experience with standard engineering work planning and design process techniques
  • Knowledge of reactor licensing requirements
  • Experience with BWR/PWR T-H systems codes such as TRACG, RELAP & TRACE
  • Experience in Best Estimate methodology development (e.g., TRACG)
  • Experience with Containment codes such as GOTHIC
  • Programming experience such as C#, FORTRAN, or PYTHON
