About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Define and execute the regional contract management strategy in alignment with business objectives
- Proactively identify and mitigate contractual, commercial, and legal risks across the project portfolio
- Provide authoritative guidance on complex disputes, including multi-party claims, force majeure, and termination scenarios
- Shape commercial positioning from tender stage through project close-out, ensuring flow down of terms towards suppliers, contractors and partners
- Lead the identification, negotiation, and resolution of high-value offensive and defensive claims
- Utilize advanced delay, disruption, and quantum assessment methodologies to build robust claim positions
- Coordinate with Legal and project teams to manage formal dispute resolution (mediation, arbitration, litigation)
- Mentor and develop the Regional Contract Management Team, fostering a high-performance culture
- Define performance goals, manage staffing needs, and ensure workload optimization
- Enforce rigorous application of standard work practices and quality procedures
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Kaizen) and capture 'Lessons Learned' to drive commercial excellence
Requirements
What you’ll need- University degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Law, or Business Administration from an accredited University or college
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in large, complex infrastructure projects (Energy, Power Transmission, Oil & Gas, or Industrial Construction)
- Demonstrated success in managing the full lifecycle of complex claims and leading high-stakes negotiations
- Extensive experience with international frameworks (FIDIC, NEC, EPC, or bespoke contracts)
- Proven track record in regional or functional leadership, managing professional teams
- Professional fluency in English (French would be a plus)
