About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

You bring extensive consulting experience, are familiar with the SAP and SAP BW landscape, and will passionately support our transition to the Databricks ecosystem
You define, model, and implement end-to-end data pipelines
You translate business use cases into scalable data models and data products
You play a leading role in the initial setup and the ongoing expansion of the company-wide Databricks platform, the successor system to our SAP BW on HANA landscape
You take responsibility for the technical and methodological implementation of demanding BI and analytics projects in close collaboration with business units, IT teams, and stakeholders
Managing (sub-)project teams is part of your responsibilities or will become part of your role in the future

Requirements

What you’ll need

Completed university degree in (business) computer science or a comparable qualification
Several years of professional experience as a Data Engineer (senior level) with solid knowledge of data warehouse and lakehouse architectures
Strong knowledge of the BW backend for BW 7.50 on HANA; familiarity with SAP ECC/S4 data structures is an advantage
In-depth experience designing and operating production-ready Databricks architectures from ingest to gold, supported by modern AI technology across the ETL process
Strong understanding of data modeling (e.g., star schema, Data Vault) and pronounced architectural thinking
Independent, structured, and solution-oriented working style
Strong analytical thinking, high initiative, and a strong team orientation
Very good German (B2) and English (C1) skills, both written and spoken
