About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Apply engineering or geology skills to projects involving landfills, transfer stations, surface impoundments, geologic and hydrogeologic investigations, solid waste planning, and other solid waste management systems
- Civil design, landfill and transfer station design, stormwater design, and site layout
- Engineering analyses such as slope stability, hydrologic and landfill gas modeling, seismic, and seepage
- Preparation of permit applications, design calculations, drawings, technical specifications, and permit applications
- Small to mid-size project/task management
- Apply an understanding of local, state and federal regulations related to solid waste and stormwater to tasks
- Assistance with the development of proposals and other business development activities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, geologic, or geotechnical engineering (required)
- At least 5 years of related experience (7+ preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience (required)
- Demonstrated interest in solid waste (required)
- Strong oral and technical writing skills (required)
- Excellent writing and communication skills (required)
- Experience with modeling/design tools such as GeoStudio, Slide, Settle3D, Golden Software, and/or HELP (preferred)
- Regular fieldwork and overnight travel (required)
- Ability to lead field and office tasks with senior support (required)
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration or the ability to obtain P.E. registration within 1 year (preferred)
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel (required)
