About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Apply engineering or geology skills to projects involving landfills, transfer stations, surface impoundments, geologic and hydrogeologic investigations, solid waste planning, and other solid waste management systems
Civil design, landfill and transfer station design, stormwater design, and site layout
Engineering analyses such as slope stability, hydrologic and landfill gas modeling, seismic, and seepage
Preparation of permit applications, design calculations, drawings, technical specifications, and permit applications
Small to mid-size project/task management
Apply an understanding of local, state and federal regulations related to solid waste and stormwater to tasks
Assistance with the development of proposals and other business development activities

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, geologic, or geotechnical engineering (required)
At least 5 years of related experience (7+ preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience (required)
Demonstrated interest in solid waste (required)
Strong oral and technical writing skills (required)
Excellent writing and communication skills (required)
Experience with modeling/design tools such as GeoStudio, Slide, Settle3D, Golden Software, and/or HELP (preferred)
Regular fieldwork and overnight travel (required)
Ability to lead field and office tasks with senior support (required)
Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration or the ability to obtain P.E. registration within 1 year (preferred)
Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel (required)
