About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Ensure financial services regulation activities are compliant with applicable laws and regulations
  • Provide legal advice on regulatory affairs and risk management
  • Support legal department in representing the bank in legal proceedings
  • Review legislation and create legal documents to ensure compliance
  • Conduct legal research on changes in laws and regulations
  • Develop and deliver training on legal and regulatory requirements
  • Identify and communicate legal advice on applicable laws and regulations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Senior qualified lawyer (Solicitor, Barrister or equivalent)
  • Relevant post-qualification experience in financial services, regulation, and commercial contracts
  • Technical knowledge of and experience working on English law contracts or equivalent
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
  • Experience supporting, supervising or developing other colleagues
  • Understanding of DLT/blockchain systems
  • Awareness of Barclays and its operational and strategic objectives
  • Demonstrable experience of identifying improvements in processes and ways of working
