About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Write functional specifications and design specifications for system software
Implement solutions to small-sized problems in the system software using C, C++, and python
Write test plan specifications and implement automated test programs
Debug problems found by automated test programs
Work with Customer Support Engineers to analyze and provide fixes for customer network problems

Requirements

What you’ll need

BSc, MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering with 2+ years of related post graduate work experience
Knowledge of C, C++, and/or python
Knowledge of UNIX or Linux
Understanding of L2/L3 networking including IP routing protocols, Layer 2 features, and distributed systems functions
Strong problem solving and software troubleshooting skills
Ability to design and implement solutions to small-sized problems without outside help
Mentoring new and junior engineers
