About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and develop gear systems for propulsion products including drive units, transmissions, and hybrid drive systems
- Perform gearbox analysis for durability, efficiency, and NVH
- Develop and enhance CAE capabilities for gearbox components and subsystems, including gears, shafts, park systems, and other
- Support product development from early concept through validation and production execution
- Communicate technical findings effectively to internal and external stakeholders using appropriate media
- Ensure timely delivery of design solutions that meet quality, cost, and program milestones
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams for integrated design, problem-solving, and system optimization
- Lead and participate in benchmarking activities for gearbox products and virtual engineering tools.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Led finite element analysis of structural components and systems
- Experience performing structural, fatigue, durability, and stiffness analysis for propulsion or rotating components
- Strong understanding of mechanics of materials, structural behavior, fatigue, and failure modes
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in gearbox design and analysis
- Proficiency with gearbox CAE tools such as MASTA/Romax, Abaqus, and Trans3D
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
