About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the development and deployment of controls solutions for device-level analytics across GM manufacturing plants
- Help implement and standardize DLA controls architecture
- Ensure compliance with GM common controls standards
- Partner with DLA, controls, IT, and plant teams to understand requirements
- Support development and testing of controls software
- Create and maintain training documentation and standardized work materials
- Analyze plant observations and recommend improvements to controls and analytics solutions
- Travel to GM manufacturing facilities for pilots, testing, implementation, and training
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in PLC controls programming, development, project coordination, site implementation, or project execution
- 3+ years of experience in automation controls, manufacturing engineering, or process studies
- Hands-on experience with Rockwell and Siemens controls systems
- Strong PLC programming experience in automotive manufacturing, assembly, and/or powertrain environments
- Knowledge of automation controls hardware and software
- Experience with GM common controls hardware, software, and network standards, including GCCS and/or GCCH
- Understanding of GM plant floor systems
- Strong analytical, project management, communication, and collaboration skills
- Ability to interpret manufacturing and device-level data and support data-driven decision making
