About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the development and deployment of controls solutions for device-level analytics across GM manufacturing plants
  • Help implement and standardize DLA controls architecture
  • Ensure compliance with GM common controls standards
  • Partner with DLA, controls, IT, and plant teams to understand requirements
  • Support development and testing of controls software
  • Create and maintain training documentation and standardized work materials
  • Analyze plant observations and recommend improvements to controls and analytics solutions
  • Travel to GM manufacturing facilities for pilots, testing, implementation, and training

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in PLC controls programming, development, project coordination, site implementation, or project execution
  • 3+ years of experience in automation controls, manufacturing engineering, or process studies
  • Hands-on experience with Rockwell and Siemens controls systems
  • Strong PLC programming experience in automotive manufacturing, assembly, and/or powertrain environments
  • Knowledge of automation controls hardware and software
  • Experience with GM common controls hardware, software, and network standards, including GCCS and/or GCCH
  • Understanding of GM plant floor systems
  • Strong analytical, project management, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to interpret manufacturing and device-level data and support data-driven decision making
