About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Source and procure raw materials including: Sheet metal (steel, stainless steel, aluminum), Tubes, bars, and structural materials
- Identify and develop new suppliers to support cost reduction and supply risk mitigation. Issue RFQs and analyze supplier quotations to ensure best value
- Evaluate suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and lead time performance and Maintain strong supplier relationships and conduct periodic performance reviews
- Serve as an escalation point for critical supplier issues related to quality, delivery delays, and pricing discrepancies
- Make independent sourcing and supplier selection decisions within delegated authority levels while collaborating with Honeywell Corporate Category Leaders
- Support the development and execution of long-term supplier and sourcing strategies aligned with corporate objectives
- Lead and implement cost reduction initiatives through supplier negotiations, sourcing strategy alignment, and value engineering in collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Work closely with Production Planning, Project Engineering, and Warehouse teams. Review MRP signals and project-based purchase requisitions
- Execute RFQs with approved suppliers and manage purchase order issuance. Ensure timely delivery of materials to meet production and project schedules
- Ensure correct material specifications (grade, thickness, finish, tolerances) are communicated to suppliers
- Drive make vs. buy decisions with Global Category Leaders
- Support compliance with ISO, safety, and regulatory requirements. Work with quality teams to resolve supplier-related issues
- Maintain accurate procurement records in ERP systems (SAP preferred). Manage purchase orders, supplier data, and inventory tracking
- Own, monitor, and drive improvement in key KPIs such as: On-Time Delivery (OTD), Cost Savings, Supplier Performance, and Procurement Cycle Time
- Coach and mentor Junior Buyers and provide guidance on complex ETO fabrication jobs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 5+ years of experience in procurement or buying
- Minimum of 3 years with negotiation and contract management skills.
- Minimum of 3 years working with commodity strategies, supplier relations, and cost control.
- Must have minimum of 3 years working with procurement software (SAP) and tools.
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP preferred)
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
