About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with government leaders at the city, state, and national levels, including agency staff and elected officials; nonprofit and community organizations; business community partners; media; and other prospective partners to effectively carry out Lime’s government relations and public affairs strategy across Latin America.
- Participate in media interviews and speak at government and community forums; organize, attend, and lead public-facing events in market in both English and Spanish.
- In partnership with regional leadership, evaluate, prioritize, and implement strategic paths toward maintaining and growing Lime’s operations and fleet across key Latin American markets, with an immediate focus on Mexico and Chile.
- Collaborate with regional operations, campaigns, and policy leadership teams to develop and execute a long-term government relations strategy aligned with company priorities and key market goals.
- Collaborate with comms and marketing teams on educational and safety initiatives, advertising and marketing campaigns, and local media activities.
- Analyze and inform GR leadership and other internal stakeholders on regulatory, legislative, and political developments across Latin America, with particular attention to Mexico City.
- Anticipate potential issues that may impact operations in the region and work with internal teams to problem-solve quickly and effectively.
- Provide leadership on cross-functional efforts to create models and best practices for stakeholder engagement, work planning, and execution across emerging and established markets.
- Manage consultants and external partners, including establishing metrics for success and accountability.
- Help lay the foundation for future team growth in the region; while this role does not begin with direct reports, the person may grow into people management responsibilities over time.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be fluent in Spanish and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages; comfortable speaking publicly and engaging with media.
- At least eight (8) years of related experience in government affairs, public policy, campaigns, and/or community development in a government-related environment.
- A minimum of three (3) years of direct experience working with municipal and/or state government, campaigns, or public policy in Mexico City, ideally recently.
- Strong experience navigating municipal politics and city-level stakeholder environments; while candidates may bring national-level experience, meaningful exposure to local government dynamics is especially important for this role.
- Experience working in or across other Latin American countries strongly preferred; experience in Chile is especially valuable.
- A strong independent operator who is comfortable owning issues end to end, exercising sound judgment, and advancing work in complex environments with limited oversight.
- A multitasker who is comfortable managing multiple priorities while executing projects in a demanding environment.
- An analytical and strategic mindset, with the ability to identify high-impact opportunities and drive efficient growth.
- Availability to travel as needed across the region.
- Previous professional experience in transportation and mobility is beneficial but not required.
- Experience managing people is preferred, particularly for candidates who have helped build or scale teams, though this role will begin as an individual contributor.
