About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Collaborate with key partners in business, product, and engineering to align strategy and set design principles across the solution portfolio.
  • Create flowcharts that convey visual hierarchy across platforms including documentation to capture interactions, processes, and decision points to map user flows.
  • Provide strategic guidance for UX design and system design integration across NFCU platforms, ensuring a consistent user experience across business applications for member-facing touchpoints.
  • Communicate effectively and influence the business strategy through visionary storytelling and design concepts via roadmaps.
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure seamless implementation.
  • Work closely with Product Design, Engineering, and Business to define and develop all UX/IA documentation and user flows for platforms.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for UI architecture, design patterns, and development processes.
  • Create wireframes, site maps, and other design documentation to communicate the structure and framework of deliverables.
  • Partner with UX Research teams for user research and usability testing to identify areas of improvement and gather feedback on existing designs.
  • Collaborate with designers, developers, and content creators to ensure a consistent and coherent user experience across all platforms.
  • Analyze and organize content to ensure it is accessible, searchable, and easy to navigate as appropriate.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in information architecture.
  • Provide expertise and guidance on information architecture to other team members and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations when designing and implementing information architecture solutions.
  • Develop and maintain a scalable information architecture framework that can adapt to the evolving needs of the business.
  • Mentor and train junior information architects and UX designers to build a strong and capable team.
  • Conduct regular audits of existing information architecture and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Participate in workshops and design sprints to engage stakeholders and gather input on information architecture strategies.
  • Establish metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of information architecture initiatives.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in; Information Science, Library Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an Information Architect, UX Designer, or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of information architecture principles, usability, and user experience design.
  • Strong understanding of ADA requirements and WCAG 2.1 standards.
  • Experience with wireframing tools, content management systems, and usability testing software.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and web development frameworks is a plus.
