About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, requirements maturation, interface definition, detailed trade studies, to translate customer requirements into software specifications
Develop and maintain engineering artifacts, drawings, documentation and support generation of reports and CDRLs related updates.
Develop User Stories and Acceptance Criteria for the mission planning products
Work closely with software development team to implement new capabilities and ensure requirements are met
Support iterative development of UI/UX concepts and designs with customer feedback
Ensure compliance with engineering processes and standards and contribute to technical problem-solving efforts to mitigate risks and resolve issues
Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints

Requirements

What you’ll need

BS or higher degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics from an ABET accredited university
2+ years of experience OR 0 years experience with a master’s degree in a related discipline
1+ years experience in one or more of the following Systems Engineering activities: operational concept/workflow development, interface analysis, requirements development and management, authoring engineering reports and documentation, participation in major milestones, design reviews
1+ years experience as a Systems Engineer or Product Owner on an Agile software development effort User Story Development, Backlog Refinement, Release Planning
Knowledge of system engineering design methods, including requirements analysis and flow-down, specification derivation, and interface control documentation
Knowledge of electromagnetic theory in the RF spectrum, signals processing
Active DoD Secret security clearance investigated within the last 5 years
Ability to obtain and maintain SAP clearance
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work on-site in Manhattan Beach (CA) or Melbourne (FL)
