About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead a management team with disciplines of Test Engineering, Performance Analysis (CFD/M&S), Structural Analysis, and Specialty/Safety Engineering
Lead a team of individual contributors directly (Engineering Program Managers, Chief Engineers, System Architects, SEIT Leads)
Oversee execution on one or more engineering development or production programs
Lead staffing strategy and implementation across responsible functional areas
Drive engineering strategy and practices pertinent to the Marine Systems E&S organization, including but not limited to investments and talent strategy
Drive predictable financial and program results
Support department initiatives, forecasting and recruiting, technology roadmap creation, and champion continuous process improvements
Position requires travel up to 25% of the time to support distributed team

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree in STEM with 8 years of experience; OR a Master’s Degree in STEM with 6 years of experience; OR a PhD in STEM with 3 years of experience
U.S Citizenship required
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
3 years of professional experience in the defense or aerospace industries
2 years demonstrated success managing technical teams
2 years of experience working in a technical role
Experience with proposals and Earned Value Management
Experience in Systems Engineering
Ability to work on site at selected location full time
