About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead a management team with disciplines of Test Engineering, Performance Analysis (CFD/M&S), Structural Analysis, and Specialty/Safety Engineering
- Lead a team of individual contributors directly (Engineering Program Managers, Chief Engineers, System Architects, SEIT Leads)
- Oversee execution on one or more engineering development or production programs
- Lead staffing strategy and implementation across responsible functional areas
- Drive engineering strategy and practices pertinent to the Marine Systems E&S organization, including but not limited to investments and talent strategy
- Drive predictable financial and program results
- Support department initiatives, forecasting and recruiting, technology roadmap creation, and champion continuous process improvements
- Position requires travel up to 25% of the time to support distributed team
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in STEM with 8 years of experience; OR a Master’s Degree in STEM with 6 years of experience; OR a PhD in STEM with 3 years of experience
- U.S Citizenship required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
- 3 years of professional experience in the defense or aerospace industries
- 2 years demonstrated success managing technical teams
- 2 years of experience working in a technical role
- Experience with proposals and Earned Value Management
- Experience in Systems Engineering
- Ability to work on site at selected location full time
