Product Manager

• Own the product roadmap and priorities for the Accessible Journey Planner (AJP), aligning delivery to RDG/NRE objectives, customer needs and measurable outcomes.
• Lead discovery and define requirements by working with users, stakeholders and delivery teams to shape problems, validate assumptions, and translate insights into clear epics, user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Drive end-to-end delivery from concept through build, test and release planning iterations, managing dependencies and supporting the team to deliver at pace without compromising quality.
• Champion accessibility and inclusive design, ensuring the product meets agreed accessibility standards, is informed by user research (including disabled users), and remains compliant as features evolve.
• Manage stakeholders and communications across RDG, suppliers/partners and industry bodies, building alignment, handling trade-offs and providing clear updates on progress, risks and decisions.
• Use data to optimise performance by defining success metrics/OKRs, monitoring live performance and customer feedback, and continuously improving journeys based on evidence.
• Support go-live and BAU operations including launch readiness, incident and defect triage, backlog refinement, and prioritisation of enhancements once the service is live.
• Embed strong product ways of working including governance, documentation, decision logs, supplier management, and alignment with security, privacy and service management expectations.

Digital Product Manager

• Support the development and delivery of public affairs and stakeholder engagement strategies for priority policy areas, ensuring alignment with RDG’s corporate objectives and wider industry priorities.
• Build, maintain and deepen senior-level relationships with MPs, peers, government departments, officials, devolved administrations and key third-party stakeholders.
• Provide strategic counsel and expert advice to the Director of Communications and Head of Stakeholder engagement. When required, provide this support for senior RDG figures on behalf of Head of Stakeholder Engagement.
• Produce high quality briefings and correspondence for meetings, events and evidence sessions.
• Manage all MP correspondence that is received by RDG working with industry colleagues to provide timely and accurate information.
• Monitor and analyse political developments, legislation and policy proposals, providing timely insight and recommendations to RDG members and internal stakeholders.
• Work alongside RDG policy team on the monitoring and engagement of the Railways Bill.
• Provide strategic guidance and support for communications colleagues to shape and deliver advocacy campaigns that build support for RDG priorities, working closely with communications, policy and external partners.
• Identify and secure opportunities for RDG and industry leaders to engage at external events, conferences and forums, ensuring consistent and impactful messaging.
• Be an advocate for the railway and be a senior member of the RDG communications team, providing direction and support to colleagues and members.
• Work collaboratively across RDG directorates to embed stakeholder and political considerations into wider organisational activity.
• Support the Head of Stakeholder Engagement with planning, prioritisation and continuous improvement of the team’s work.

• Produce and maintain test plans across the lifecycle of the project for all aspects of Acceptance and E2E Testing.
• Where appropriate assist with developing internal test practices across the organisation and ensuring delivery of testing services that complies to the organisational quality assurance policy, practices, and test strategy.
• Test Estimation to ensure that the effort for testing on projects is correctly captured and tracked.
• Development and maintenance of Customer Acceptance Test objectives matrices through the project and successful baselining as part of project closure.
• Definition of Acceptance Test criteria and working with Business Stakeholders to sign off user test requirements and test acceptance criteria.

• Good working knowledge of automation tools - Selenium Open Source, Robot Framework, Python, ReadyAPI, Saucelabs, GitHub, Gitlab, ConnectALL, Gatling and any tool that RDG or the departments deem necessary to incorporate into work delivery.
• Automate regression and functional tests to help improve time to market for QA services.
• Manage the automation scripts and codes bases using tools like GitHub and GitLab.
• Help create requirement traceability matrix by active management of stories in JIRA, ALM and related tools.
• Strive towards upskilling and maintaining skills/proficiency to best delivery change in RDG.
• Support testing processes especially around automation in a CI/CD and/or DevOps Model.
• Help document knowledge of all automation and technical testing for the team.
• Help train and share knowledge with team members on all subjects that you work on.
• Good understanding and adopting of static assurance across all testing stages.
• Be proactive and escalate any delays in testing to project manager, test manager and/or Head of QA in a timely manner.
• Develop and maintain a good testing knowledge of the relevant systems (online and/or backend), scope and objectives and input into the Service Desk Knowledge base
• Engage with vendors/suppliers and work collaboratively to ensure that quality of releases and products.
• Ensure supplier test delivery is in line with RDG policy and standards and develop a Test Assurance Framework for third party software delivery.
• Be proficient in Risk based approach to testing and deliverables.
• Work with the test manager and project team to manage expectations and ensure adherence to timelines.
