About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the end-to-end Transaction Monitoring BAU control environment, ensuring issues, incidents, and control gaps are managed in line with governance expectations
- Design, build, and scale the “Go Hunt” analytical capability, embedding proactive risk identification across the TM landscape
- Own and evolve the Transaction Monitoring Risk Assessment (TMRA) framework, ensuring it remains robust and forward-looking
- Ensure effective continuous performance monitoring, driving improvements in detection capability and operational outcomes
- Define and deliver product roadmaps aligned to customer needs, business priorities, and technology strategy
- Oversee product execution in line with regulation, policy, and standards, including model performance, calibration, and supporting documentation
- Lead and develop a high-performing team, ensuring organisational design meets current and future demands
- Foster a culture of innovation, experimentation, and continuous learning, accelerating feedback loops and idea development
- Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into product vision, clearly communicating priorities and outcomes
- Provide ongoing assurance of product value delivery, ensuring solutions are effectively designed, implemented, and continuously improved
- Champion and embed agile practices, driving delivery efficiency and continuous improvement across teams
- Identify, manage, and escalate risks, issues, and control weaknesses, ensuring timely resolution
- Support governance, reporting, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring transparency of progress and decision-making
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience in Financial Crime specifically Transaction Monitoring within a Financial Services environment (Required)
- Deep understanding of data and analytics to drive insights into model performance and continuous improvement (Required)
- Good understanding of Financial Crime controls, processes and regulatory requirements (Required)
- Experience in supporting change delivery, including requirements gathering, testing and implementation (Required)
- Awareness of operational impacts of change across processes, systems and customer journeys (Required)
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work across business, operations and technology teams (Required)
- Ability to translate complex requirements into clear, practical solutions (Required)
- Solid organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines (Required)
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal (Required)
- Proactive approach to identifying issues and driving resolution (Required)
- Proven track record of people management within small / medium sized teams, leading to improved competence of reporting layers (Required)
- Professional experience in Financial Crime (Required)
- Experience in FC Product maintenance / continuous product improvement, including product design, build, test and implementation of Fin Crime detection and case management solutions as well as E2E controls (Required)
- Data, Analytics and AI experience (Required)
