About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Partner closely with Snap’s Engineering Security team to provide legal and strategic advice
- Collaborate with stakeholders to help develop security policies
- Ensure Snap’s data processing globally complies with privacy laws
- Partner with Product Counsel on complex issues
- Work with Snap’s Privacy Engineering team to improve privacy program
- Analyze potential legal risks for new products
- Conduct privacy due diligence reviews
- Help draft descriptions of new products
- Track and analyze proposed privacy legislation
- Conduct periodic privacy and security trainings
Requirements
What you’ll need- J.D. from a nationally recognized law school
- Active membership in at least one state bar
- 6+ years of experience practicing law
- Experience counseling and working closely with Security teams
- Deep understanding of global cybersecurity laws
- Deep understanding of domestic and global privacy laws
- Knowledge of existing and emerging artificial intelligence laws
- In-house or law firm experience counseling clients on privacy
- Excellent legal and business judgment
