About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Performs structural marine and waterfront engineering assignments that are broad and varied in nature
Performs and oversees engineering planning and design assignments at key stages of projects
Oversees technical work, provides technical guidance and mentoring of entry- and intermediate-level engineers
Analyzes complex problems and proposes new alternative solutions
Leads the preparation and coordination of project deliverables including contract documents
Responsible for the review and sealing of contract deliverables
Performs independent technical and quality reviews
Ensures Stantec’s engineering and design procedures and guidelines are consistently applied on projects
Coordinates with clients, agencies, and others to obtain and determine project requirements and approvals
Responsible for invoicing, managing, and monitoring financial performance of project budgets

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university
Minimum of ten years of relevant structural marine and waterfront structures experience
Highly skilled in technical and functional aspects of the role
Proven ability in staff supervision and leadership
Strong communication and presentation skills
Ability to travel frequently within the New England area
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in one New England state with ability to obtain licensure in other states within 6 months
Experience with engineering design tools such as MathCAD, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, BIM, Microsoft Project, CSiBridge, Shoring Suite, and Optimoor
Prior experience with US Federal agency engineering and construction projects or similar port and marine transportation entities is a plus
