Business Center Practice Leader – Environmental Services, Mining

Engineer

• Project management and/or design management of bridges, culverts, retaining walls and foundation engineering assignments
• Managing change in scope, schedule, risks and costs against the project baseline
• Interaction with project controls and associated reporting
• Regularly interface with the client regarding project status updates and expectations
• Account and stakeholder management maximizing business opportunities within client accounts

Bridge Engineer

Controller

• Collaborate with Project Managers (PMs) to establish initial project budgets, work breakdown structures (WBS), and baseline cost/schedule plans.
• Regularly develop and update project forecasts, including Estimate at Completion (EAC), Estimate to Complete (ETC), and cash flow projections.
• Support the preparation of change orders and contract amendments, ensuring all scope changes are accurately reflected in the budget and schedule.
• Oversee the setup of new projects within the internal financial system to ensure alignment with contractual structures.
• Monitor the progress of projects to evaluate financial risks, identifying potential overruns or variances before they impact profitability.
• Utilize Earned Value Management (EVM) and other metrics to track labor utilization, productivity, and overall project performance.
• Act as a bridge between technical leads and PMs to monitor resource allocation, ensuring staffing levels align with the project budget and accounting constraints.
• Manage the monthly invoicing process, including the review of Work in Progress (WIP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) to ensure timely collections and revenue recognition.
• Support the development and administration of sub-consultant agreements, ensuring their costs are monitored and reconciled against the prime contract.
• Ensure all project management activities comply with internal company standards (e.g., Stantec’s Framework) and external ISO standards.

Project Controller

• Develop hydrodynamic models using tools such as MIKE 3, MIKE 21, and Telemac to support coastal and river engineering projects, including environmental impact assessments, remedial designs, and risk evaluations
• Conduct coastal engineering design and assess coastal hazards to support resilient and sustainable infrastructure projects
• Apply a strong understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic principles, with proficiency in HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and PCSWMM
• Prepare clear and comprehensive technical reports documenting field investigations, analytical findings, and interpretations

Coastal Engineer, Intermediate

Project Scheduler

• Meet contractual scheduling/project controls requirements.
• Develop, maintain and/or analyze Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules.
• Serve as the owner of the project schedule and coordinate all inputs, reviews and updates required for a functional schedule.
• Participate as member of a project team and communicate schedule-related issues and opportunities but also be able to work independently and with minimal direction.
• Prepare the project schedule in Primavera P6 including the sequence and duration of all activities relating to the completion of the project.
• Ensure that the project schedule is updated regularly with progress achieved and make changes to the sequence and duration of activities where appropriate.
• Review vendor, sub-consultant and contractor schedule submittals and incorporate into project schedule.
• Identify the project critical path and communicate same to the project team and stakeholders.
• Identify divergences from the project plan as established in the baseline schedule to the project team.
• Identify activities that are behind progress, any foreseen delays to future activities and the likely effect on the schedule of any actual or foreseen delay.

Environmental Planner – Siting Lead

Accounting Manager

• Accountable for the effective management and leadership of a team of Project Accountants (PA)
• Financial management of a portfolio of active, complex projects through the project life cycle partnering with Project Managers (PM) to ensure accurate project setup, maintenance, invoicing, and project closure
• Evaluate project setup and budget change documentation for compliance with contractual requirements
• Act as a subject matter expert in review of large contracts and complex contract terms
• Drive excellent customer service and promote a customer-centric focus within the team

Project Accounting Lead

Civil Engineer

• Understand and work according to the requirements of the Stantec Safety Culture and in compliance with all Health and Safety rules and regulations for Stantec and its clients.
• Perform structural design and analysis to applicable codes. Typical structures include heavy industrial/energy infrastructure, steel structures, and concrete foundations. The work would primarily support Mining and Energy related projects.
• Develop designs through sketches, hand calculations, and structural analysis software models.
• Work with Engineers and Designers (CAD/BIM) on fit-for-purpose designs that meet the client’s needs and requests.
• Interface with other disciplines and project management to execute projects per the project plan.
• Conduct quality assurance and quality control on own projects within Stantec's quality control guidelines.

Senior Structural Engineer

Bridge Engineer – Roadways, Highways

• Provide technical leadership and project management for oil & gas midstream permitting projects (FERC-regulated natural gas or liquids pipeline projects) and energy transition projects throughout the US.
• Manage permit applications and agency coordination related to Threatened and Endangered Species, Sections 404/10, Coastal Zone Management Act, and Section 106 Cultural Resources.
• Develop and maintain positive client relationships, including seeking opportunities for new business and supporting proposal development.
• Create technical documents and provide review of technical documents that support regulatory submissions.
• Support and ensure implementation of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Policies, Procedures, Standards and Guidelines in the execution of all work and coordinate with HSE professionals during the execution of all phases of project planning and implementation.
• Communicate and collaborate with other Environmental and Regulatory Specialists to ensure consistency in project execution.
• This position works as part of a larger midstream & energy permitting team and there will be opportunities to support multiple Stantec projects and offices nationwide.

Senior Environmental Regulatory Permitting Manager – FERC

Administration

• Daily oversight and supervision of site inspector(s) for assigned projects
• Monitoring construction activities, ensuring cost, schedule, and quality standards are met
• Reviews requests for payment draws from Contractors and prepares payment certifications
• Communicates recommendations to the Project Manager, Client, and design team
• Prepares documents and maintains file management of project-related information
