About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinates the review and audit of completed SBA and business banking loan packages post-closing in compliance with policies and procedures, regulatory guidelines, and investor standards by gathering and reviewing necessary documents and information within designated time frames
  • Communicates with internal staff, customers/clients, lenders, SBA partners, counsel, and other stakeholders to respond to inquiries, resolve post-close exceptions, and obtain additional documentation needed to complete the file
  • Ensures compliance with internal policies, SBA SOP requirements, regulatory and investor requirements, and quality control standards
  • Reviews files for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to SBA eligibility, documentation, and closing requirements
  • Identifies documentation deficiencies, collateral exceptions, or compliance gaps and works to resolve or escalate issues as appropriate
  • May support post-close audit reporting, file certification, and reconciliation activities, including reviewing final loan terms, fees, and disbursements for accuracy

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Typically four to six years of relevant experience
  • Thorough knowledge of legal documents used to support applicable loan processing, with emphasis on SBA and business banking documentation
  • Ability to identify and resolve/escalate complex problems with minimal guidance
  • Ability to apply critical thinking for all elements of loan documentation construction and post-close audit review
  • Ability to master the bank’s documentation and audit software
  • Thorough knowledge of closing policies and procedures, funding policies, underwriting requirements, SBA guidelines (SOP), governmental requirements, terminology, and automated processing systems
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable credit policies and approval processes for assigned product(s)
  • Ability to work effectively and accurately in a fast paced, high production, professional environment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
