About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the strategy, development, negotiation, and execution of custom client contracts to achieve cost savings, operational improvements, and client objectives
  • Develop and execute negotiation strategies by partnering with Legal and other stakeholders to negotiate complex contract terms and conditions while balancing client, supplier, and Vizient priorities
  • Provide strategic consultation to internal and external stakeholders to develop sourcing and contracting solutions that address unique client requirements
  • Lead complex competitive sourcing events, including Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and Requests for Quotation (RFQs), and guide evaluation, supplier selection, and contract award decisions
  • Guide team members through negotiation strategies, sourcing activities, and contract development; may manage the work of others and support escalated negotiations
  • Identify, prioritize, and oversee complex cost savings initiatives from opportunity assessment through implementation while monitoring results and value realization
  • Direct contract administration and maintenance activities to ensure compliance with negotiated terms, maximize contract performance, and achieve targeted savings
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with senior client leaders, suppliers, and internal business partners while proactively addressing contracting complexities and resolving issues
  • Design and deliver executive-level communications that provide updates on sourcing initiatives, savings opportunities, project outcomes, and strategic recommendations
  • Support vendor relationship management activities, including business reviews, product evaluations, implementation planning, and issue resolution to ensure successful client outcomes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Relevant degree preferred
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) credential is a plus
  • 7 or more years of relevant experience required
  • Experience supporting healthcare food and nutrition sourcing, contracting, or operations preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate complex agreements and collaborate effectively with Legal, suppliers, clients, and executive stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial, operational, and contractual data to identify cost savings opportunities and develop actionable recommendations
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management skills with experience presenting to executive leadership
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead multiple complex initiatives in a fast-paced environment
