Project Manager

• Drive the work on the project; set the priorities, procedures, scope and schedule; publish and coordinate project team member assignments with the Studio Leader and/or Operations Director; obtain resource commitment for all disciplines.
• Manage assigned projects through all stages of the project lifecycle, including, Project Initiation, Project Planning, Project Execution, Project Monitoring & Control, and Project Closure.
• Follow and implement all established company processes and procedures.
• Facilitate project kick-off meetings with all members of the project team and related personnel to clearly communicate the objectives, scope, design and schedule of the project.
• Develop a detailed Work Plan for completing the design within the scope of work, project timeline and budget; identify required precursors from other disciplines in a timely fashion, and track details/data/information/activities for proper project documentation.
• Direct, coordinate and support the members of the project team to meet the objectives of the client and the project profitability goals for Stantec.
• Maintain contractual, business and financial related records for the project; keep the client, Studio Leader, Operations Director, and the Accounting Department informed on the financial status of the project.
• Identify QA/QC requirements for the project and schedule appropriate technical reviews.
• Manage the client’s expectations to a positive outcome; participate in client meetings as required.
• Notify the client of changes in project scope, prepare estimates for additional design fees, issue work authorization to client and obtain approval prior to performing any additional services.
• Actively participate in cross selling of Stantec services and new project pursuits.
• Make a personal investment in professional growth and development by seeking ways to expand responsibilities, knowledge, and abilities.
• Create and maintain purpose-built tools that support the Project Management of the projects unique to your Business Unit; including templates and standardize deliverables, to increase overall project quality and efficiency.

Project Manager – Mission Critical

Engineer

• Perform feasibility studies including preliminary cable design calculations
• Prepare preliminary cable installation design drawings
• Preparing cable specifications for the design, manufacturing, testing, delivery, and installation of high voltage ac and dc underground and submarine cables
• Reviewing and evaluating bid documents
• Reviewing cable test plans as well as witnessing and reviewing factory/site cable testing
• Reviewing cable installation plans and witnessing cable system installation activities
• Participate in technical and industry trade organizations
• Participate in Business Development activities to grow Stantec’s cable business.

High Voltage Cable Engineer

• Work under minimal supervision with broad guidelines, to assign, review, and evaluate the performance of new project orders; directing interdisciplinary project teams as needed to ensure project needs are met.
• Strong project leadership to help ensure conformance with Stantec’s Project Management Framework (PMF).
• Ensure strict compliance with contractual requirements.
• Coordinate with Stantec leadership and client contacts routinely to explore future opportunities, budget planning, and staff resourcing needs.
• Develop fee proposals for a variety of sizes and complexities, working with other task managers as needed to address all technical disciplines.
• Oversee stormwater design and lead supporting tasks, including grading, hydrologic and hydraulic studies, and utility layout.
• Lead the design and evaluation of stormwater management facilities, conveyance systems, and flood protection strategies.
• Lead credit analysis of a variety of BMPs for TMDL Credit using regulatory guidance.
• Assist in the development of TMDL Action Plans, stormwater master plans, and resilience planning.
• Oversee the inspection of BMPs, municipal facilities, and outfalls.
• Lead field assessments for water quality studies, watershed walkovers, stream assessments, and other projects.
• Attend and help moderate daytime and evening public outreach meetings.
• Conduct peer and quality reviews on applicable projects.
• Mentor/supervise junior staff and promote career development.
• Other duties or responsibilities as assigned by management.

Senior Water Resources Engineer

• Perform complex engineering design tasks on assigned water, industrial process and wastewater-related projects through collaboration with a wide range of technical disciplines
• Engage in the development of a design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats
• Assist project managers with developing and managing the project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule
• Lead others in developing and coordination of project construction specifications
• Conduct and/or coordinate quality assurance and quality control on assigned projects and facilitate independent technical review projects by others
• Reviews contractor/vendor submittals for adherence to Contract Documents and industry standards
• Involved in the permitting process of projects, which may require meeting with clients, contractors, interested stakeholder parties, and reviewing agency personnel
• Coordinates with the regulatory review to seek final approval
• Assists in the development and updates of project design standards and guidelines; prepares abstracts and technical papers
• Assist with business development pursuits including proposal preparation and participation in interviews

• Lead and manage mine water resources management projects throughout the life of mine phases (project economic assessments to closure plans)
• Baseline studies and water management design and planning, and water balance and/or water quality model development in support of NI 43-101 studies, including as a Qualified Person
• Surface water resources studies and assessments in support of environmental assessments, including baseline water quality and hydrology studies, water management infrastructure design and planning, site-wide water balance and water quality model development
• Mine closure planning and studies supporting studies
• Technical lead for design of water management infrastructure, including sedimentation ponds, drainage ditches, dewatering plans, erosion and sediment control plans, watercourse crossings and alterations, watercourse diversions

Risk

• Delivery of risk analysis services as part of capital projects delivery in compliance with Project and Program’s governance, processes, and objectives
• Work with the risk team in creating and managing robust risk registers and generate analysis for the project
• Responsible for management and execution of project risk and project delivery review processes
• Lead program and project risk review meetings, maintain meeting minutes, prepare written recommendations and follow-up on implementation actions
